IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

  • We ask all parents not to enter the school building until 8:15a.m. at which time you may sign in at the Hall Patrol Desk and continue directly to the Office.

  • Cell phones are not to be used in school.  If a student uses a cell phone during school hours, the phone will be taken away and not returned until the end of that school day.

  • The Tuition Office will be open only from 8:30 to 10:00 AM Monday through Thursday.

  • Please remember, if a family already registered at St. Helen School brings a new family into our school community with children registering for grades 1-6, the current family will receive a $1,000 discount on the following year’s tuition.  Special conditions apply: the new family must remain in St. Helen School for one year and the current family must introduce the new family to the principal.

 


SCHOOL NEWS:

Catholic School Week begins January 27th with school Mass at 9:30 am.  There will also be an open house from 10:30- 2:00pm.  The schedule for the week will be as follows:

 

Monday- Family Day – Pre-K – 3  9:30-10:15 Gr. 4-8      10:15-11:00

Refreshments will be served.

 

Tuesday- Book Fair

 

Wednesday – Student Recognition Day – Dress down for grades K-3. 

 

Grades 4-8 will have a Bowling Day at Woodhaven Lanes.

 

Thursday – Intramural Sports for all grades.

12:30 p m Volleyball Game- Faculty vs. 8th graders. 

 

Friday – Sports for grades 1 & 2.  First Friday Mass at 11 AM

 

Mini- Courses begin Friday, Jan. 18th .  They will run for 5 weeks.  12:30-1:15 will be mandatory reading, writing, and math classes. 1:15-2:00 will be dancercise, stock market, $1M Club, Advertising Club, and Filmmaking.  Students will be choosing the mini-course they would like to participate in. 


Beginning June 1, 2007, students may go directly to Sports Depot( with their gym uniform slip) on Crossbay Blvd. to be measured for their gym uniforms.

COLUMBUS CITIZENS FOUNDATION:

The Columbus Citizens Foundation scholarship forms can be obtained by going to the foundations website www.columbuscitizensfd.org.  One parent must be of Italian heritage and there needs to documented financial need in order to apply for this scholarship.

 


Fundraising Information and Updates


On Oct. 4th and 5th Mrs. Connelly, our 6th grade teacher, will be walking in the 39 mile Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.  The students of St. Helen School will organize and participate in many activities to help Mrs. Connelly reach her goal of $1,800.00. 

There will be a cupcake sale in April to support pink.  Also, in May, the students will wear pink for a NUT day.  There will also be a Mother’s Day raffle.  Our teachers will hold a faculty cupcake sale in June.  As of April 3rd, Mrs. Connelly exceeded the goal and is now at $2,200.00.  Thank you parents, parishioners, and students for your support.
